hello.
maybe i was a pirate once, peg legged with an eye patch and a wooden parrot by my side. the crew don't like me very much, i try to be a good boss by cracking jokes but they just cringe. i think it might be my body language - i am always clumsy with my intentions and always come across angry - or it also could be my bad breath.
i think i have a pretty charming face. a scar on the forehead - i got it at a fight at Timmy Island for that chicken that lays golden eggs (but it is not with us anymore though, Chef Pat got it confused with our regular chickens and we ate Goldy for dinner.) i like my gold tooth very much. i had it as a keepsake after she died. the gold was from her wedding ring, well both of my parent's actually. well, dad didn't survive long after mom left; i guess he can't bear the loneliness.. i think i fear being alone too. even in this big ship, having the crew of 23 and the company of a room full of treasure, i still can't help but feel that i am alone. i miss mama's smiles, bedtime hum-hums and her wholesome noodle soup. and Goldy... sigh asking Pat walk down the plank didn't help either.
the weather is pretty calm right now. we just braved through a treacherous storm a month back. the seas should be fine for another 3 months before we meet another torrent. i guess even being infamous and 'terrible' pirate that i am, i still wear the weakness of man. in such peaceful times, i think a little too much, write a little too much, and i grow embarrassed with myself.
i am wearing props. i am wearing things that feed my need for an identity. i am a pirate. am i really? i realize that i am just a confused child holding on to his ideology of destiny. scars, peg legs, hurts, pain, objects, lives, stories... these help craft out an image of reality. for each moment that passes by, i tell himself that this is for me. i am born to be a pirate.
i am pirate - a man that steals treasure from others and makes it his own. a man that feeds on gold to satisfy his unfound treasure of complete reassurance. faith is this pirate's true weakness.
